Dr. Wendy E.A. Ruona is an Associate Professor of Human Resource Development (HRD) at the University of Georgia (United States). Wendy’s work during the past 15 years has been devoted to developing (1) aligned organizational systems that are poised to achieve strategy, foster optimal organizational effectiveness, and be amazing places for employees to work and (2) the leaders needed to enable that. The key areas that she’s worked in include: strategic planning, alignment, and implementation in organizations, the system that support performance, talent management, organization development and change, and building the HRD profession (foundations and what is required for strategic alignment and contribution). Wendy has published over 50 articles, chapters, and papers and received numerous awards recognizing her scholarship and service in HRD. Wendy served as the Editor-in-Chief of Advances in Developing Human Resources (2004-2007) and has been elected to the Board of Directors for the Academy of Human Resource Development four times during 2000-current.

Diane Chapman is Director of the Office of Faculty Development at NC State University and Teaching Associate Professor of in the Department of Leadership, Policy and Adult and Higher Education. She has been a member of AHRD since 1999. During that time Diane served as Chair of the Technology Committee and most recently served for the past two years as Proceedings Editor for the AHRD International Research Conference in the Americas. This year, Diane is serving as Program Chair for the conference. Much of Diane’s academic career has been focused in the areas of online learning, program evaluation, and professional development. She was Program Coordinator for the first online Master’s degree at NC State for 10 years, prior to accepting her current position as Director of NC State’s Office of Faculty Development. Her most recent research involves evaluation in workforce development, student evaluation of teaching, and faculty development in higher education. She is a recipient of awards for her teaching and engagement activities at NC State. Prior to working at NC State, Dr. Chapman served as Coordinator of Online Instruction at the UNC-Chapel Hill School of Public Health and has over 20 years of industrial training and development experience in the manufacturing sector. Dr. Chapman received her B.B.A. from Western Michigan University, her M.B.A. from Western Carolina University, and her Ed.D. from NC State University.

Jason Moats

Jason Moats is the Director of WMD Programs for the Emergency Services Training Institute / Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service. He currently directs three programs with a combined annual budget of more than 8.1 million dollars. He has been with TEEX since 2002. He has been a member of AHRD since 2006. Since 2009, Jason has served as the Chair of the Scholar Practitioner Special Interest Group. He has also been a reviewer for the AHRD International Research Conference in the Americas since 2007 and is serving this year as Proceedings Editor for the AHRD International Research Conference in the Americas. Much of Jason’s career has been focused on scholar-practitioner issues and the training and development of emergency responders. His most recent research involves the acceptance and integration of innovative technologies in training. He is currently adjunct faculty for Adelphi University’s Emergency Services Administration program and has been adjunct faculty for The Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M University. He has over 20 years’ experience in emergency services and was decorated for Valor in 1993. Jason has also developed or co-developed more than 15 nationally recognized training courses for emergency response professionals. He received his B.S. from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale, his M.S. and Ph.D. from Texas A&M University.

Angela Titi Amayah

Angela Titi Amayah is an Assistant Professor of Business, Management and Economics at Empire State College / State University of New York (SUNY). She holds a B.A. (Maîtrise) in Law from the University of Bordeaux IV Montesquieu (France), M.B.A. in Management from Southern Illinois University, and a Ph.D. in Education, Workforce Education and Development (Human Resource Development) from the Southern Illinois University. Prior to joining academics, Angela worked in the corporate sector in the area of accounting. Her research and writing focus on generational differences, and knowledge sharing to improve organizations’ processes.

Jessica Li is an associate professor at University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign where she serves as the HRD online Masters’ program coordinator and Dean’s Fellow of Faculty Development and Diversity Initiatives at the College of Education. Jessica has been an active member of AHRD since 2003, in addition to participate, present and review for each of the conferences, she has also chaired the China HRD research SIG (2009-2013), Cutting Edge Award committee (Associate chair 2010-2011, Chair 2012-2013). She is also an associate editor for Human Resource Development International, a regional editor for the Journal of Chinese Human Resource Management, and a senior research fellow for The Conference Board. Prior to becoming a professor, Jessica also worked as a business executive for corporations like Motorola, Raytheon, and Nokia. She also taught at University of North Texas, Texas A&M University, and North China University and Technologies. Her research interests include work ethic, international HRD, and emerging technological applications for learning in the workplace. Her Ph.D. is from the Pennsylvania State University.

Dave McGuireDave McGuire

Dr. David McGuire is senior lecturer in human resource development (HRD) at Edinburgh Napier University, Scotland. He has significant experience in teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in the areas of HRD, managing diversity and leadership and is deputy programme director of MBA programmes. To date, he has published two textbooks and over 30 journal articles in journals including European Journal of Training and Development, Advances in Developing Human Resources, Human Resource Development Review and Human Resource Development Quarterly.

David serves as Associate Editor of Advances in Developing Human Resources and as Book Reviews Editor of the European Journal of Training and Development. He also sits on the Editorial Boards of Human Resource Development Quarterly and Journal of Change Management.  He has been the recipient of a number of prestigious research awards including Scottish Crucible award, Fulbright Scholar award, Government of Ireland scholarship and a number of Emerald Literati awards.

David regularly presents his work at national and international conferences and is a long-standing member of the Academy of Human Resource Development and University Forum for Human Resource Development. He is currently Chief external examiner (HRM programmes) at Staffordshire University.

Judy Yi SunJudy Yi Sun

Judy Yi Sun is an Assistant Professor of Human Resource Development at The College of Business and Technology, The University of Texas at Tyler. She has been engaged in the AHRD research community since 2007. In the past eight years, she has actively participated in the AHRD International Conferences in Americas and in Asia as a reviewer, presenter, and symposium chair, associate track chair in the previous AHRD conferences and currently serves as the chair for China HRD SIG. Additionally, she has been the recipient of Dissertation of the Year Award at the 2013 AHRD conference, and has received Cutting Edge Award in both 2012 and 2013. Prior to her academic appointment, she had worked for multinational corporations, such as Motorola and KPMG, as a senior consultant for over ten years. Her research interests include career development, international HRD, HRD theory building, and management development.

Katie P. DesiderioKatie P. Desiderio

Katie P. Desiderio, Assistant Professor of Management, holds a MBA from Wilkes University and a Doctorate in the field of leadership with a specialization in human resource development (HRD) from Barry University. Her research interests, in the area of flow and finding happiness to optimize performance at work, stimulate her overall work as a professor. As a collaborator by nature, she embraces research with fellow HRD scholars in the areas of performance, social and transitional justice issues in HRD, perceived leader behavior and organizational citizenship behaviors. She has been engaged in the AHRD community since 2009 and looks forward to continuing to serve the Academy!

Dr. Desiderio’s personal mission is one that encompasses lifelong learning, leadership development and performance optimization -- P=f(M*A*E) fueled by FISH! --coupled with a healthy, happy, and moral means for living. This mission serves as the theoretical framework for her quest to serve as a moral compass that enriches and transforms the lives of students.  After working for several years in corporate marketing, she is excited to be able to share her knowledge and experience with students in a career where she has found the essence of embracing flow at work!

J. Kori Whitener FellowsKori Whitener Fellows

J. Kori Whitener Fellows, is currently president and owner of KWF Solutions, LLC, a Human Resource Development consulting firm specializing in organizational, career and leadership development, as well as training and development.  Kori is also a doctoral candidate at Texas A&M University in the Human Resource Development program.
As a corporate consultant, trainer and organizational development specialist, Kori has worked with individuals at all levels in their careers to help them develop successful career strategies.  With an extensive background in communications, she has facilitated, designed and developed career and leadership development programming, as well as programming focused on interpersonal and organizational communications.  Kori’s main research focus is in the area of leadership and organizational culture. She holds a Masters of Science degree in Human Resource Development from Texas A&M University and a Bachelor of Journalism from the University of Texas at Austin.  She has experience working with a wide variety of industries from telecommunications and software development to hospitality, retail, energy, entertainment and healthcare.

Sunyoung ParkSunyoung Park

Sunyoung Park, PhD, is an assistant professor in the School of Human Resource Education and Workforce Development at Louisiana State University. Her research interests include organizational culture; learning in the workplace; knowledge sharing; and integration of human resource development, human performance technology, and instructional technology. She received her PhD form the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities.

Robert YawsonRobert Yawson

Dr. Robert M. Yawson is an Assistant Professor of Management at the Lender School of Business, Quinnipiac University, USA. Robert has a BS in Chemistry and MPhil in Biochemistry, University of Ghana; Post Graduate Certificate in Food Management, Hebrew University of Jerusalem; MS in Science, Technology and Environmental Policy, Hubert H. Humphrey School of Public Affairs, University of Minnesota; and PhD in Organizational Leadership, Policy and Development, University of Minnesota. Robert has over 20 years working experience in industry, public, and non-profit sectors. He is a member of several professional bodies and has participated and presented papers in over 30 international conferences. He has several academic publications including peer review papers in leading academic journals such as the R & D Management Journal, Human Resource Development Review, Journal of Consumer Policy, among several others. Robert serves on the Editorial Board of the International Journal of Business and Systems Research. His current research is on using the "wicked problem construct" for leading organizational development and change; and also using systems approach to human resource development for emerging technologies.
