International, Global, and Cross-Cultural Issues in HRD

Description of Track: The International, Global, and Cross-Cultural Issues in HRD track brings together international, global and cross-cultural aspects of the field of Human Resource Development. Both empirical and conceptual papers related to various countries, regions, cultures, and continents are welcome. Comparative studies are particularly encouraged. One of the challenges in HRD is to determine what is international versus global and local. While there is no single answer to this, we leave it to the respective authors to make that determination. This track aims to help HRD scholars and practitioners share research and best practices around the world as we continue to live in a global world.

Track Chair Editor: Dr. Mesut Akdere

Mesut Akdere is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Administrative Leadership at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. His research focuses on quality management, organization development, performance improvement and international HRD. He has published in Training & Development, Human Resources, Organization Development, and Healthcare journals He teaches graduate courses in Human Resource Development, Training & Development, Organization Development, Strategic Planning, and Leadership.
