Location and Lodging
In the heart of downtown, the newly-renovated Richmond Marriott offers a blend of luxury and Southern charm. The hotel offers a prime location that puts you just steps from its historical past. AHRD guests will be able to experience the city’s unique ambiance by taking the complimentary shuttle to a number of diverse dining and entertainment venues.
Please note that the hotel is currently sold out on Monday, February 12 and Tuesday, February 13. An alternate block has been secured at the Hilton Richmond Downtown (located across the street).

Traveling to Richmond
The Richmond region is easy to get to with flights from all over landing at Richmond International Airport. Within half a day’s drive of half the population of the United States, getting to Richmond by car or bus is as easy as hopping on I-95. Amtrak trains follow the I-95 corridor as well with two Richmond region trains dropping off at Ashland, Staples Mill and Main Street Stations.
Richmond International Airport is just 15 minutes from downtown Richmond. Six air carriers provide service to RIC: Allegiant, American, Delta, JetBlue, Southwest and United. Each offers nonstop flights to major national destinations and connecting flights to cities around the world. Beginning in March, OneJet will offer nonstop service between Richmond and Pittsburgh. Taxi service at RIC is available. James River Transportation provides executive sedan and limousine service. Hop on an Amtrak train and trek to Richmond with ease and comfort. e national rail operator stops at three stations locally. Rail service is located just minutes from I-95 and I-64 at 7519 Staples Mill Road. Passengers also arrive at downtown’s Main Street Station at 1500 E. Main St., and Amtrak has a station in the heart of downtown Ashland, at 112 N. Railroad Ave. Stations are handicapped accessible, and baggage service is available. Did you know the Richmond region is located within a day’s drive of half of the U.S. population? Utilize Interstates 95 and 64, the major corridors traveling through the region. For ease of navigation, vehicle rentals, taxi service, GRTC bus transportation and Uber service are also available.
