Dear Fellow AHRD members -
AHRD’s 2015 International Research Conference in the Americas is in St. Louis in February. And, as you know, Ferguson, Missouri, a part of the St. Louis metropolitan area, has been in the news for the past several months. Some people have voiced concerns about the safety of the St. Louis area. The AHRD Board shares concerns and has monitored the situation since this summe,in part, through statements issued by the St. Louis Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB), which seems to be an honest and informed voice. Please click here to see the latest statement from the St. Louis CVB. We will post all future CVB updates as they become available to us on the “Conference Central” website.
Our uppermost concern is for the safety of everyone attending the conference. Our assessment is that our downtown conference hotel, the Hyatt Regency Hotel at the Arch, located about 12 miles from Ferguson, continues to be a safe venue and that no special precautionary issues need to be considered at this time.
We would be most willing to respond to any questions about the situation as it relates to the AHRD conference.
Thank you in advance for your understanding.
