AHRD encourages the systematic study of human resource development theories, processes, and practices; to disseminate information about HRD; to encourage the application of HRD research findings; and to provide opportunities for social interaction among individuals with scholarly and professional interests in HRD from multiple disciplines and from across the globe. Membership in the Academy of Human Resource Development provides a number of benefits. Membership is open to individuals and organizations in the field of human resource development. For an explanation of membership categories, please refer to the member types listed below. AHRD reviews all applications for membership and reserves the right to deny membership to those individuals who do not meet the criteria for membership as specified in the membership requirements. AHRD offers a rolling membership, meaning your membership begins on the date your application is approved and payment is processed, and extends for one year. Dues may be deductible as membership in a professional association on your income tax forms. Consult your tax advisor for more information. To receive member rates for an event, you must first become a member, and then register for the event(s). These will be two separate transactions. Members receive discounted registration rates for the annual AHRD International Research Conference in The Americas plus an online subscription to four journals. $130 annually Any resident of a country with a Human Development Index of .80 or less as measured by the United Nations’ Human Development Report are eligible for membership at a reduced rateAny resident of a country with a Human Development Index of .80 or less as measured by the United Nations’ Human Development Report are eligible for membership at a reduced rate. $130 Annually Student members must be enrolled full-time in HRD educational programs at institutes of higher education. Student members must be a Graduate Assistant or equivalent, and provide details of financial hardship. Student members receive discounted registration rates for the AHRD International Research Conference in the Americas. Find out more about student membership! $75 Annually Available to any individual scholar or practitioner who supports The Academy’s mission ($75 annually). Members receive online access to the four journals sponsored by AHRD, as well as the monthly AHRD Digest. Affiliates of AHRDProgram Excellence Network (PEN): $99 annually (new lower rate for 2017!) PEN Affiliation is for programs and organizations. PEN is open to all academic programs worldwide that provide instruction, research, service and leadership in HRD. Each program will designate a PEN delegate. This delegate should be the chair/coordinator of the HRD-related academic program at the affiliated organization (or their designated representative). Delegates must be full-time faculty members actively engaged in HRD at their home institution and must be a current AHRD member. Delegates will represent their HRD academic program at the annual meeting and be the primary contact for all PEN-related communications and business. $60 annually SIG members may enroll in up to two SIGs, with access to that SIG website and all SIG benefits. SIG members will receive the AHRD e-Digest, but do not have access to the members-only areas of the AHRD website, AHRD journals or have voting rights. $130 Annually Retired individuals without full-time employment with at least 10 years of AHRD membership preceding retirement.
